Since arriving in North Carolina, Guillermina has found peace in the beauty of the state’s landscapes and comfort in its welcoming communities. She values the calm pace of life, the strength of the local school system, and the mutual respect she sees among her neighbors. For the past year, she has worked as a homemaker and residential cleaner. Though the work is physically demanding and often invisible, Guillermina takes pride in what she does. She sees her work as essential—helping people who cannot clean for themselves and creating spaces of care and comfort for others.

Her cultural heritage is a constant source of strength and guidance. Raised by parents who taught her to trust in God, work hard, and never give up, Guillermina carries those lessons in everything she does.
